Your consent and study information govern
This page is a short summary. The informed consent form, health-information authorization, and other materials given to you by the study team describe how the study uses and protects information, who may receive it, how long it may be retained, and how to withdraw. Those study materials govern your participation. If anything here appears inconsistent with them, stop using Plainly and contact the study team before continuing.
Information handled by Plainly
With the permissions described during consent, Plainly may access health records available through Apple HealthKit. The app may also handle questions and chat messages, study-task and questionnaire responses, study codes, app settings, and limited technical information needed to operate and secure the study. The exact information used for your study is described in your consent and study materials.
How information is used and shared
Information is used only to provide the study app, generate the summaries or explanations requested during study tasks, protect the service, and conduct the approved research. Depending on the study configuration, relevant content may be processed by a study-authorized language-model or storage service on Stanford's behalf. Submitted study information is coded and may be reviewed by the research team and the persons or organizations identified in the consent and authorization. Plainly does not use study information for advertising and Stanford does not sell it.
Your choices
Participation is voluntary. You control HealthKit permissions in iOS and may stop using and delete the app. To withdraw from the study or revoke authorization, follow the instructions in your signed consent materials. Information already submitted may still be retained when permitted or required for research integrity, law, or Stanford policy, as explained in those materials.
